Meeps, one of DC's best-loved vintage shops, offers timeless clothing for women and men as well as a small collection of local designer wares. Whether you wear vintage by day, or you simply need a funky outfit for your next theme party, you'll find something unique and inspiring here.
Meeps and Aunt Neensie's Vintage Fashionette opened its doors in 1992 and has been offering an alternative shopping experience to the nation's capital ever since. Named after the founding owner's grandmother (check out Meeps, left, and her sis, Neensie, below), Meeps has been cultivated by a handful of local ladies. Danni Sharkey and Leann Trowbridge (right) are the shop's current owners and have been at the helm since 2001. We scour the mid-atlantic region and beyond to bring you unusual and evocative vintage clothing and accessories. Pay homage to Meeps' fashion-loving spirit: save yourself from the mass-produced clothing of today and get into some attire with history!
The bulk of our store is filled with women's and men's clothing from primarily the 1940's to the 1980's. We focus on 'wearable vintage', meaning we look for pieces that will mesh well with a modern wardrobe. If the look you're going for is more period-piece, we can accomodate that, too! Pictured above is just a small sample: we also have lots of formalwear, hats, shoes, purses, belts, jewelry, etc. etc!
