ABOUT CONSIGNING:

What is the Emporium and what do I do?
Simply the Emporium is new retail or as I call it "Alternative Consumerism" at it's best. I invite you to stop in and see how to get you a more successful sale when it is time to re-locate or simply change things out. If your like me there is simply not enough time these days for prepare my stuff to sell in a yard sale or on Craig's list or newspapers and besides that it is just not a safe feeling for me. Auctions, albeit fun if you are in the audience, are a bigger gamble for sellers at best. This is where the Emporium services shine. Your best items should be displayed within elegant surroundings and proffessionally merchandised to ensure a more successful and profitable sale. Merchandising furntiure into welcoming vignettes is what the Emporium is famous for. Merchandising for a single piece or to sell your home, is the only proven formula that works successfully at getting the best price in the least amount of time.

How does it work?
You bring your treasure to the Emporium and I will take care of the rest. You are paid 40% on fashions and 55% on everything else. Checks are mailed at the end of every month for all items sold the previous month.

What happens when my stuff does not sell?
Occasionally we cannot find a fit for a piece, if this were the case you are free to pick up the piece at the end of the term. If you are one of many consigners that have moved out of state, we are able to help you also as we have done for many in this exact situation. We have consigners all over the country. It's that simply.

What is the Home Staging about?
I am a Certified Home Stager and Redesigner. Having been a student of these since the 90's I know first hand how important these services are. Having sold a house for a 30,000.00 profit in the 90's after being told I needed to take a 50,000.00 loss proved without any doubt how valuable these services are. Home Staging is "Merchandising our homes, based on our target markets profile which results in getting to SOLD faster and more Successfully!" Stop by to learn more and see the many ways I can help you have a more successful house sale even if you live out of state through our successful referral program. Even if you are staying put you can learn ways to Re-love and Romance your home by changing up a few pieces or a whole house that will enable you to live your serenity and bliss now! I welcome the opportunity to meet and speak with you about these services and assist you through our referral program. I am an active promoter helping others grow within these fields for the benefit of all. I am here and able to help. Stop by, let's have a conversation.

Who might benefit from The Emporium services?
Everyone including; Home owners, Real Estate agents, Estate Lawyers, Liquidator's, Bankruptcy Lawyers, Interior Decorators, Funeral home directors, Auction houses as well as House Cleaning services and Movers just to mention a few.

Lastly why pay for storage?
We are hoarders by nature. But I want to ask why keep so much stuff and paying a storage fee every month? Is this craziness?

My thought on this is "When we hoard things this way we do not free ourselves to allow new experiences and stuff to enter our live. We stay stagnant and in a constant state of thinking about all that unwanted, unused stuff, costing us both little and big fortunes every month. I'm pretty sure that money spent each month might serve you better in another way. Come in and let's talk. I will help you get unstuck and onto the next get adventure in your life.

What other reason's should you shop here at the Emporium?
We have lots of free parking. No need to park acres away and drudge through the elements. In just two steps your inside a warm store. We have two conveinent and easy access loading docks, handicap entrance, we except CC and can arrange delivery services and shipping just to mention a few.

The Emporium is a new kind of retail I call "Alternative Consumerism" and after you stop in, I hope you will begin to agree this way of shopping and selling has many more merits than negatives for us and our planet. It is both the Ecological and Economical common-cents way to shop and sell. We can feel good that we Re-purpose, Re-cycle, Re-use and Transform for a better life. I am so glad to be here at this point in time when everyone is learning new, and often times better and smarter ways to feather our nests. Please come and discover all that is going on here. Become a part of this "Alternative Consumerism Experience".

There will be so many new and exciting changes happening in 2010 that I cannot wait to share them. I will keep you posted.

In case you did not know we are here for your year round gift giving needs also. The Emporium helps you give Champagne gifts on a beer budget. Even if money is no object, why spend more than you have to?

Tips for Furniture Consignment Shopping:

1. Carry a list of what you're looking for with ideal dimensions for each piece. Be sure to measure the clearance of doorways and stairs in your house. Keep a measuring tape with you.

2. If the consignment store does not offer delivery for large pieces, you will need to arrange your own shipping. Ask the store for recommendations. Most stores will allow you to keep your purchase at the store for up to a week until you can arrange delivery.

3. Inspect furniture carefully. Sit on chairs to test for comfort, loose joints or wobbly legs. Open doors and drawers to check for any sticking, broken parts or damaged or missing hardware.

4. Value design above finish or upholstery, which can be changed. How would a piece work if you shortened its legs or removed its drawers? If it's not an antique, imagine how paint or a slipcover can create a fresh personality.
